About the role

Job Description Some of what you will do: Systems Administrator is a Senior position. The recipient will be responsible for high availability and continuity of technology and infrastructure in multiple Data Centers across Canada.

The recipient will have extensive experience in implementing, maintaining and supporting Windows and Linux servers, provisioning storage, and interconnectivity of all Data Centre systems.

The recipient will have strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills as well as be able to adapt to changing, fast-paced and high-pressure work environment.

Specifically, You Will

  • Design, implement and maintain Data Centre equipment including, but not limited to, servers, storage, network switches, and vendor appliances.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members using Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Sharepoint and Ring Central.
  • Travel as required to Data Centers to implement, maintain and troubleshoot the environment.
  • Build and maintain virtual and physical servers on Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Manage and monitor virtual environment using VMware vCenter.
  • Create/modify/delete objects and resources in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS management using Infoblox or similar technology/services and Group Policy Objects.
  • Build and manage Cloud VM’s and resources.
  • Implement and maintain file share services, web services, SFTP/FTP services, SSL certificates.
  • Automate and streamline processes using PowerShell, Command Shell and other languages and technologies.
  • Document installation and operating procedures and ensure they are up to date.
  • Provide escalation level support to Help Desk and other departments.
  • On-call/after-hours support duties on a rotational basis amongst the team.

Some Of What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or a related field of study and/or 5+ years of equivalent IT working experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional server/systems administration role.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supporting virtualized environments.
  • Must have a drive to continually improve and a passion for evolving technology
  • HPE Synergy-series blades and chassis, DL-series rack-mount servers, 3PAR storage and knowledge/experience with other comparable brands.
  • VMware ESXi hypervisor, management of virtualized environment using vCenter.
  • Implement and support virtual and physical Windows servers and Linux servers.
  • Create and manage objects in Activity Directory, Microsoft 365, Group Policy Objects.
  • Device patch management software and technologies like WSUS, NinjaOne or comparable.
  • Setup and maintain F5 Networks Load Balancers or comparable.
  • IIS, SFTP, FTP, InfoBlox/DNS, SSL Certificates and Splunk.
  • Create Powershell and Command Shell scripts or similar to help automate processes.
  • Implementation and support of Cloud VM’s and resource or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Network and performance monitoring tools like Solarwinds, Netscout or comparable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the following:
  • Firewalls, Routers and Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks.
  • Document installation and operating procedures and ensure these procedures are maintained and updated.
  • Ability to work effectively, both independently or as a team member.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
