Tandia Financial (Tandia) is seeking a Permanent Full-time Commercial Account Manager to join our Commercial Services team in Burlington, Ontario.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Leader, Commercial Services, the Commercial Account Manager Small and Medium Enterprise is responsible for developing new member relationships with small and medium enterprises to grow the size and profitability of the commercial lending portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for growing the size and profitability of the commercial lending portfolio, through the offering of a broad spectrum of products and the development of new member relationships through prospecting and lead generation, with small and medium sized businesses.

  • Development of a market management strategy to grow our commercial portfolio while working with internal (wealth, retail, and payment solutions), external partners and syndicated deals.

  • Responsible for achieving annual targets, maximizing product penetration of a broad spectrum of products, minimizing loan risk while working within Credit Union policies.

  • Responsible for commercial underwriting, confidently making sound lending recommendations to adjudication that weigh risk and reward and that also adhere to sound standards of credit approval and compliance with all regulations by-laws policies and procedures.

  • Identify trends, monitor risk and assess for credit restructuring.

  • Provide exceptional member experience by delivering superior business and financial advice.

  • Recommends business development strategies and pipelines to support achievement of targets.

  • Maintains portfolio of diversified commercial member relationships, ensuring product penetration is maximized.

  • Other assignments, projects and duties may be required.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • University degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Commerce or a related program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in account management in small business and commercial portfolios.
  • Proven track record of new member acquisition.
  • Commercial credit skills including assessment of risk and financial analysis, credit structuring/solutions and presentation of deals.
  • Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e., web-based meetings, social media, Digital Banking and Mobile Applications

Knowledge & Skills

  • Deep product and services knowledge coupled with understanding of the credit union’s business objectives.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to achieve established business development targets.
  • Demonstrated sales experience, with multi-channel success.
  • Deep product and services knowledge.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and understand aspects of lending such as project financing, market analysis and industry trends etc.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with a demonstrated ability to initiate action to achieve results and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with confidence and with a strong commitment to member service.

Other Requirements

Due to deadline and time constraints, the hours of work may extend beyond the normal work week. There can be numerous and varied responsibilities, which require constant prioritizing to ensure that all duties, are completed efficiently, accurately and on a timely basis. It is a requirement of this position to be able to perform well under pressure while working towards meeting established objectives within the set timeframes.
