Ciena is seeking a motivated and organized Video Producer to oversee the production process of video marketing materials. This role will act as a champion for video strategy and production standards, bringing a high level of organization, communication, and quality control to our work. This will be a hands-on role, responsible for managing production timelines, enacting feedback from stakeholders, and overseeing the video process from scripting through final delivery.

Reporting to the Director of Video Marketing, you will lead various projects from initial briefing to final delivery, while partnering with both internal stakeholders and external agencies. To be successful in this position, you’ll be an organized big-picture thinker, very strong communicator, and be capable of handling multiple projects in varying stages at the same time. You’ll also be an expert in video production process and tools, with the ability to jump in and support at any stage – storyboarding, filming, or editing.

You will need to possess a working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premier and After Effects. You’ll be familiar with DSLR cameras, and professional video equipment and techniques for proper lighting and audio capture. And you will possess a strong ability to communicate story through video, with strong script-writing and storyboarding abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage media production across marketing, communications, and events
  • Drive pre-production aspects of telling a story via video, including creative discussions, schedules, stakeholder feedback, and script and storyboard development.
  • Support production aspects of video, including both in-house and agency-produced work
  • Manage post-production workflows. Includes finding the best avenue for post-production and assigning appropriate resources.
  • Proactively engage with other teams within Ciena’s marketing organization to determine video needs
  • Understand Ciena’s video process and employ the video strategy to pair projects with the right production funnel and resources
  • Set production schedules and keep projects, resources and partners aligned and on time
  • Oversee the review process for creative and brand approvals
  • Manage the proper upload and delivery of video assets
  • Champion the proper use of Ciena’s brand guidelines across video projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various stages or production and keep clear line of communication open with all parties
  • Track metrics associated with video projects, including timelines, budgets, roadblocks, and viewership data. Lead successful post-mortems of your work with an eye on improving future projects
  • Manage the video library
  • Assist and provide insight on other Creative Team needs as required

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
