BOM Specialist

Position Summary The BOM Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of production operations by managing Bill of Materials (BOM), preparing quotations, coordinating with engineering teams, and supporting various administrative and operational tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue Bill of Materials (BOM) manually and electronically to production teams.
  • Generate accurate quotations with reasonable lead times.
  • Validate submittal requirements to ensure alignment with BOM specifications.
  • Coordinate with Design Engineering to resolve BOM discrepancies.
  • Release jobs and create job orders in Syteline ERP system.
  • Issue customer invoices upon shipment of orders.
  • Request and manage office supply inventory.
  • Run and update operational and production reports.
  • Provide support to team members, including assistance with Order Entry and other administrative tasks.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to support production and estimation processes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma required; Diploma in Engineering Technology or equivalent is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with Bill of Materials and estimating is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with standard office platforms and tools.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Previous office experience preferred.
