Role description: Arcadis is seeking a Principal, Architect - Market Business Development Lead to expand the Industrial Facilities practice across Canada. Reporting to Canada Industrial Facilities Practice Group Managers, this role emphasizes leadership, strategic business development, and brand elevation within the national industrial architecture market. The candidate will play a key role in driving Arcadis' outward-facing strategy to achieve growth and increase market visibility.
The ideal candidate for the position is a recognized market leader in industrial development either in specific markets or Canada-wide, with a proven track record in business development
Role accountabilities:
- Collaborate with global and regional leadership (Global Industrial Practice Group Director, Market Strategists, Business Unit Directors) to create an annual business development strategy aligned with growth goals.
- Lead the communication and execution of business strategies across Canada.
- Set business development targets alongside Canada Practice Group Managers.
- Lead client capture plans and pre-marketing initiatives to secure projects.
- Develop strong relationships with existing and new clients, fostering long-term partnerships.
- Drive proposal development and interview preparation for RFQs and RFPs.
- Implement global and national growth strategies to expand the practice.
- Mentor future leaders within the organization to ensure continuity in client relationships and leadership roles.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Architecture with a professional registration
- Minimum 15+ years of industrial architecture experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the Industrial Facilities market, including growth practices.
- Proven business development capabilities in key Canadian regions (e.g., GTA, Alberta, Greater Vancouver).
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple project pursuits simultaneously.
- Knowledge of sustainability principles, including LEED accreditation.
- Membership in the Economic Developers Association of Canada (or willingness to obtain).

The salary range for this position is $114,000 - $212,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
