About the role
Position Overview
NDS Integration, a leading AV integration company in Vancouver, is seeking an experienced Sr. AV Installation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in the AV trade while continuing to learn and grow under the guidance of our Project Manager and Senior Installers. You will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality audiovisual installations for our commercial and institutional clients, ensuring timely, efficient, and professional execution.
Key Responsibilities
AV System Installation Proficiently perform wire pulling and routing for audio, video, and control systems. Install, mount, and configure AV electronics (e.g., displays, speakers, amplifiers) according to project specifications. Ensure all installations meet company and industry standards for quality and safety.
Independent Field Work
Work independently in the field, taking responsibility for completing AV installations without direct supervision. Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues, adapting to project requirements and client requests as needed.
Collaboration & Leadership
Coordinate with Project Managers, Senior Installers, and other team members to align on project timelines and goals. Provide guidance and occasional leadership to less experienced technicians or subcontractors when required.
Quality Control & Safety
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety standards and regulations. Identify potential on-site hazards and communicate proactively to prevent accidents or project delays.
Documentation & Communication
Document installation progress, including any changes to system design or configurations. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Technical Skills Proven knowledge of the AV installation trade, with prior hands-on experience. Ability to independently complete AV system installations from start to finish. Networking/IT background is a plus.
Education & Certifications
Education in Electronics or a related field preferred. Possession of relevant safety certifications (WHMIS, fall arrest, scissor lift) is an asset. Must be bondable.
Physical & Logistical Requirements
Clean driving record; willingness to drive to various job sites in and around Greater Vancouver. Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders, lifts, or in confined spaces as necessary. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
