As the Policy System Specialist, you will take a leadership role in researching, analyzing, and driving policy and billing system changes at an organizational level. You will provide policy system expertise and have a depth of knowledge on system functionalities, integrations and capabilities across all product lines, for multiple companies. You will provide leadership in developing and maintaining the strategy, roadmap and health related to the business and technology policy system needs. You will be responsible for supporting operational performance and success of policy systems. You will provide policy system expertise to all products, programs and initiatives, manufacturing projects and implementations. As the Policy System Specialist, you will provide policy system expertise and support to other business areas within the organization.

 

HOW YOU WILL CREATE IMPACT

  • Support the health of the policy administration systems by researching, analyzing, identifying, and quantifying potential solutions to problems/issues.
  • Proactively monitor policy/billing system external activities to identify potential impacts and emerging issues which could impact system health, capabilities, and deliverables.
  • Lead research, evaluate and author key recommendations facilitating delivery of the policy system strategy.
  • Act as a resource that will build and maintain strong relationships with business partners and team members.
  • Provide recommendations, alternatives, solutions for policy/billing documents and/or letters, which will support our strategic initiatives, improve client experience, and provide operational efficiencies.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to project teams working on policy administration system development. This includes acting as a SME on policy/billing system accountabilities in the development, maintenance and enhancement of our business and technology functionalities. 
  • Responsible for creating and managing the Policy Systems backlog and leading the completion of the Business Value Canvas while supporting the accountabilities within Agile Projects.

TO JOIN OUR TEAM

 

  • You have 2-3 years of relevant experience with systems and production knowledge.
  • You have a degree in Business, Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • You have or are working towards your Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP).
  • You have extensive knowledge of Policy Administration Systems processes and procedures and a strong knowledge of systems development.
  • You have a working knowledge of system applications (i.e. PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimsCenter, AS400, JIRA, MessagePoint, AdminZone).<

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • You will be subject to a Background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
  • You will travel occasionally.
  • Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

Salary information

Expected salary range $60,574.00 to $100,956.00 CAD

Salary placement

The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in

its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.

Incentive/Variable pay

Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and

earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.
