About the role
Sales Development Representative (SDR)
Remote, Canada. Contract. $65K to $105K OTE ($20-24/hour base plus uncapped commission).
The short version
We built an AI that answers the phone for small businesses. Your job is to get owners on the phone, mostly ones who've never heard of us, and turn them into paying customers. You report straight to the CEO, you're close to every decision, and one number tells you if the day went well: paying customers you activated. You will not build lists. You will not hunt for emails. You will not spend your morning in a spreadsheet figuring out who to contact. That work is done before you log on. Your dialer is loaded and ready. You open it, and you go.
What you'll actually do
Your dialer is loaded every morning. Three kinds of calls, in the order you'll spend your time. Track A, cold outreach. This is the bulk of the job. Home services shops, single-location owners: plumbers, HVAC, electrical, roofing. You call them cold, get past the busy, and open a conversation about the calls they're missing. You get after it, and you turn cold names into booked conversations. This is most of your day, so you have to like the hunt. Track B, the bigger ones. A 6-location HVAC company replies "interesting, tell me more." You run a real discovery call, find out what missed calls are actually costing them, and book time on the CEO's calendar. Track C, the warm ones. Someone started a free trial last night or replied to an email this morning. You call them fast, usually within minutes, and help them get set up. Calling a fresh signup within 5 minutes makes them about 21x more likely to qualify than waiting 30. Fewer of these, but they're gold, so you jump the second one lands. We feed the top of this from a few engines: your cold dials, an email program scaling to tens of thousands of sends a month, and retargeting ads to everyone we touch. You'll dial on our own product, log what happened, write the follow-ups, and work objections using the playbook and methodology we train you on. Our AI handles the high-volume calling. You handle the conversations that need a human.
Who you'll be talking to
Plumbers, HVAC and electrical shops, roofers, dentists, lawyers, property managers. Mostly owner-operators, 1 to 50 people. The owner is the buyer, so there's no committee and no six-month cycle. They pick up the phone between jobs, they're busy, and they're direct. The pitch is simple enough to say in one breath: when they miss a call, 85% of those callers just dial the next shop on Google. We answer it instead. You need to be able to talk to a plumber under a sink and an operations director at a multi-location company on the same afternoon, and sound natural in both.
Who this is for
This is not a learn-on-the-job seat. We hand you a day of training and you're on live calls the same week. So you need real reps behind you already.
What you need to have done before
Real outbound SDR or BDR experience, with numbers you can point to. Meetings booked, quota hit, pipeline sourced. Roughly a year or more of it, on the phone. You've lived on a dialer. You know what a good call sounds like, you've handled objections live, and a full day of dials doesn't rattle you. You've sold to small business owners or busy operators, ideally home services, healthcare, legal, or similar. You can talk to a plumber under a sink and an operations director on the same afternoon and sound natural in both.
What actually separates the great ones
You take feedback and use it immediately. This is the one we test hardest. In the interview we'll coach you mid-conversation and ask you to run it again. The ones who adjust on the spot get hired. You get after it. This is a hunter seat. You'd rather make the extra 20 dials than sit on a warm list and hope. Self-driven volume, no one standing over you. You bounce back fast. You'll hear no 50+ times a week and keep the tempo up. You work a list like a system. Same output on a bad day as a good one. You get curious when someone pushes back. "We already have someone" is the start of a conversation, not a wall to argue through. You write like a human. Half this job is written. Short, clear, no fluff. You're good with an AI doing some of the calling. If that sounds like leverage, you'll like it here. If it sounds like a threat, it won't be a fit.
Bonus: HubSpot, and time selling AI or software to SMBs. We're early and building this in real time. Some days are messy. If you want a rigid, fully documented playbook for every situation, this isn't the seat. But you shouldn't need one, because you've done this before.
What you get
$65,000 to $105,000 OTE. That's $20-24/hour base depending on experience, plus uncapped commission on every customer you activate. The commission is uncapped by design. You get paid when a customer you brought in starts their trial, and again when they convert to paid. The strong reps here should be at the top of that range, and there's no ceiling on it. Fully remote, anywhere in Canada. Weekly 1:1s with our CEO on your numbers and your call quality. You'll get coached, not just measured. A clear path. This role grows into AE or sales lead as we do. Every tool you need, including the product itself.
How to apply
Two steps. Please do both. Call our AI receptionist at 1-855-497-8225 and book yourself a test appointment. It takes about 60 seconds. That's the product you'll be selling, and we notice who took the time. Apply here and tell us, in a couple of sentences, what you thought of that call and why you're the rep who gets after it. We read every one.
