Job Summary : Flowserve is looking for a technically and commercially experienced salesperson in the office (Applications Engineer). In this function you will develop solutions for customers and partners for industrial and special applications.
Within the Aftermarket Commercial Operations team located in Edmonton, AB assigned to support Aftermarket customers in the Western Canada region and to serve as a backup for the greater North American region. The product focus is on Pumps, Seals, & Seal Support Systems.
You will act as a product specialist in a team and work closely with the sales, development, and other specialist departments at the site.
We are currently unable to sponsor or support visa applications.
Responsibilities
- Provide quotations for Seals and Systems at market level pricing in response to RFQs in the requested customer time frame.
- Interpret specifications and data sheets, including special warranty, delivery and payment terms requested by our customer.
- Perform seal failure analysis including the generation of technical findings reports with recommendations.
- Interact effectively with customers without supervision.
- Demonstrates acquired specialization in multiple products.
- For all products, identifies the correct Flowserve solution to fulfill customer requirements.
- Proactively seeks out maximizing financial drivers such as tracking costs, expenses, receivables, and inventory to improve the financial performance of the Corporation.
- Drive a consistent offering to our customers preventing regionalization of our product offerings.
- Engage with all levels of management and sales to participate in pricing strategies.
- Confirm the Sales Approval Process is followed for all firm bids and cost estimates are prepared and qualified by BU.
- Drive and facilitate selective bidding as required based on current workloads and user locations.
- Provide the first level of troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Engineering degree or equivalent with 1-3 years' experience in customer facing, technical support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Mechanical aptitude, ability to utilize measuring equipment (i.e. dial calipers, micrometers, etc.), ability to utilize basic tools for inspection. Exposure to thermal and fluid mechanics.
- Able to identify problems and utilize advanced problem-solving (RCA) and troubleshooting skills to reach an appropriate solution.
- Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a self-directed environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new programs/software.
- Basic project management tools and methods
- Strong work ethic with positive attitude
- Travel requirement: Less than 10%.
Preferred Skills/ Experience
- Experience with pumps, seals, or seal support systems.
