The Financial Reporting Advisor is responsible for preparing accurate and timely quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and applicable regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Advisor supports the preparation of the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) by delivering detailed financial data, insightful analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. The position leads the development and enhancement of financial models, dashboards, notes to financial statements, MD&A tables, and other reporting tools that serve both internal and external stakeholders.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Prepare accurate financial statements and note disclosures in Workiva, ensuring full compliance with IFRS, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Validate and prepare underlying financial data supporting MD&A and other external reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial analyses, trend reports, and performance metrics for leadership decision‑
- Deliver ad hoc analyses and support cross‑functional projects that require deep financial reporting knowledge.
- Ensure strong data integrity through reconciliations, mapping, tie‑outs, and validation across systems and reporting outputs, while maintaining and enhancing financial models, reporting templates, and supporting documentation for financial statements and MD&A.
- Support quarterly and annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure all reporting processes comply with internal controls and public‑company requirements, including documentation and auditability, while contributing to the design and continuous improvement of reporting controls.
- Leverage advanced Excel, Power Query, and Workiva capabilities to optimize data structure, strengthen reporting accuracy, and enhance workflow effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance, Capital Markets, IT, and Operations, while documenting processes and contributing to a flexible, proactive team environment.
- We are a flexible and proactive team, readily taking on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.
WHAT WILL YOU NEED?
- CPA designation (or equivalent) required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, ideally within a public company environment; IPO experience is an asset. Strong knowledge of IFRS, regulatory reporting requirements, and external financial reporting processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Query, Power BI, VBA, and financial reporting platforms, including Workiva.
- Prior experience in preparing MD&A, financial statements, and related disclosures.
- Exceptional analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
