Maintenance Technician – Astro Hill (Iqaluit, NU)
Location: Iqaluit, Nunavut
Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Reports To: Operations Manager
About the Role:
Astro Hill is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Iqaluit, NU. This is a permanent placement position that requires relocation to Iqaluit, with relocation costs subsidized. As part of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of our buildings at Astro Hill, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for residents and tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations for emergency maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in building maintenance or a related field.
- Knowledge of HVAC, power engineering, plumbing, and electrical systems (considered an asset).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to adapt to a northern climate and remote work environment.
