Brake Press Operator
About the role
Role Description This full-time, on-site Brake Press Operator role is based in Burlington, ON. The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring brake press machinery to form metal components according to specifications and drawings. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting work orders and blueprints, selecting and installing appropriate tooling, performing test runs, and adjusting machine settings to maintain accuracy and consistency. The role involves inspecting finished parts for quality, recording production data, and collaborating with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules. The operator is also expected to follow all safety procedures, perform basic equipment maintenance, and assist with troubleshooting minor machine issues as needed.
Qualifications
Ability to program jobs on the CNC, operate and monitor brake press and related machinery, with strong Machine Operation skills. Experience performing inspections, measurements, and checks to ensure product accuracy and Quality Control. Competence in Troubleshooting equipment issues and making basic adjustments to maintain performance and safety. Understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions for metal fabrication. Commitment to safe work practices and adherence to workplace safety regulations. Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to stand for extended periods and handle moderate lifting. Previous experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or a similar production environment; vocational training or certification in a related trade is an asset.
