About the role

All the important tasks we'll trust you with:

  • Work closely with the Global Procurement Director to develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze market trends to anticipate price fluctuations and supply risks.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and performance criteria.
  • Source suppliers in one or more countries and conduct preliminary market research.
  • Assess supplier capabilities in the short, medium, and long term.
  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure sustainable partnerships.
  • Evaluate risks, propose mitigation plans, and collaborate with the Global Procurement Director to draft initial contract versions.
  • Perform commercial and economic analyses of bids received, ensuring fair comparisons based on total cost of ownership.
  • Negotiate and implement supplier agreements to obtain the best commercial and contractual terms.
  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding quantities, pricing, and all purchasing and supply conditions.
  • Manage supplier disputes and ensure thorough contract follow-up.
  • Support cost model preparation for sales, considering engineering, customs, logistics, and sales forecast requirements.
  • Coordinate the purchase of the first order with manufacturing plants.
  • Advise stakeholders throughout the procurement process and help define the scope of work.
  • Conduct cost analyses and propose actions to reduce expenses.
  • Draft, publish, and manage requests for proposals (RFPs), ensuring that requirements for professional services, goods, or other assigned initiatives are clearly defined.
  • Establish performance indicators (KPIs) to measure purchasing effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (logistics, production, finance, etc.) to optimize supply chain flows.
  • Integrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) criteria into the purchasing process.

Your areas of strength and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management (OM), or equivalent.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in procurement within the manufacturing or related industry.
  • Experience in the automotive or transportation electrification sector is an asset.
  • Knowledge of procurement/inventory management within an ERP/MRP system.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English, spoken and written.
  • Ability to read 2D/3D drawings and technical specifications is an asset.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
  • Strong adaptability.
