Position: MDS/RAI Coordinator
Status: Part-Time
Schedule: Day shifts 9:00am-5:00pm (30 hours/bi-weekly)

Reports to: Director of Care
The MDS/RAI Coordinator supports residents by managing assessments, ensuring accurate documentation, and helping the care team provide the best possible environment and care.
This role will include duties such as:
- Coordinating the completion of MDS assessment on all residents within established timelines
- Understanding how the MDS assessment integrates with existing clinical tools and provides leadership in streamlining these processes
- Understanding and providing critical analysis of data at different levels of aggregation (Resident, Home Health Zone, etc.)
- Articulating for staff the strengths of MDS as a clinical assessment tool
- Articulating the financial implications of coding inconsistencies
- Acting as key contact and liaison with: Health Zone/AH&W/CIHI/PCC, etc.
- Developing facility specific material within the PCC program as required
- Responding to Health Zone on all submission errors
- Facilitating response and correction of submission errors with facility staff
- Coaching to key facility personnel to build capacity for understanding RUG patient classification levels
- Developing and introducing processes, and systems to improve accuracy of RAI content
- Facilitate audits of RAI assessments for content accuracy
- Participates in strategic planning for program development/improvement
- Responsible for Clinical and Admin Setup role to support MDS within PCC software program
- Interprets reports generated by Health Zone/AH&W or CIHI and provides critical analysis for Home
- Understands the development of RAP’s, quality indicators, and RUG case mix products
The qualified candidate will have:
- 3-5 years' experience in Long Term Care, experience with MDS an asset
- Registered as a RPN under CNO
- Knowledge in nursing rehabilitation and working OT and PT
- Strong analytical and assessment skills
- Ability to lead training and education with Adult learners
- Knowledge of: InterRAI suite of tools, MDS/RUG III patient classification systems.
- Effective communication skills
Additional Requirements include
- A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
- Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
