About the role

The Opportunity

Are you a new or recent university graduate looking for a caring, collaborative, values-driven workplace with inspiring teammates and leaders? Do you have the ambition and desire to be the best and thrive at the most impactful global insurance provider in the world? Look no further than Zurich Canada.

Zurich is currently hiring for our Claims Training Program in our Toronto office.

Zurich's Claims Training Program is an entry level opportunity for new and recent university grads with the drive to become successful members of our claims team. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career in Commercial Insurance! You will learn all aspects of handling claims by following Zurich's best practices.

Our Claims Training program will start in June 2026. Training will include onboarding within the local office supplemented with classroom training and on-the-job development during the duration of the program. Your classroom training will provide the technical tools needed in the role. You will also learn how to apply your knowledge to ensure you understand how we "deliver when it matters most." You will progressively build your skills as you are introduced to more complex Claims, case studies and skill-building exercises that help you understand how to work both internally and with our customers.

We offer opportunities across multiple business areas, including:

  • General Liability
  • Property
  • Specialty

This position will be closely supervised and work within narrowly defined limits of authority providing a high level of customer service to our insureds and claimants. After an initial period of training, this position will handle low complexity claims. Participants go through a structured 12-month training program that gives them the technical and real-life perspective to understand the "Zurich Way of Claims."

We select team players who are strategic thinkers, creative and confident risk-takers to participate in the program.

Here is what you can expect as a colleague of the Claims organization at Zurich Canada:

  • Be part of an internal career path and engage in active and continuous conversations with leadership to develop a plan that enables your growth into a knowledgeable professional in claims handling
  • Learn technical claims excellence and industry best practices from experienced managers, leaders and other claims professionals to have long term opportunity and development across the Claims organization
  • Interact with colleagues from diverse experience and backgrounds in a team environment
  • Develop partnerships across organizational levels and functions
  • Invest in your career development with support for additional insurance designations and coursework
