As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project, and we are hiring for hundreds of roles. The GO Expansion scope : fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.
Could you be the Junior Buyeer we’re looking for?
Your future role
To develop and implement the Procurement strategy to ensure optimal cost productivity (i.e. preferred suppliers, saving & risk assessments, etc.)
We’ll look to you for:

Prepares and releases RFQ packages to target supplier panel

Collects, analyses and challenges suppliers offers from Negociation to Purchase Order release

Collects and formalizes Return of Experience on projects deployed in the region
-
Liaises with Engineering Department, Project, Bid & technical Managers and with many different stakeholders (i.e. Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, etc.) in order to prepare Procurement commitment (from RFQ phase to Business Award approval and Purchase Order placement)

Challenges commodity buyers & managers to increase competitiveness and ensure convergence of commodity strategies with Tender

Leads Prebid agreements at tender phase when it brings a real advantage

Proactive cooperation with Engineering to ensure “Design to Cost”

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical discipline,
- Minimum 3 years' work experience in Procurement
- High level of analytical skills and experience in driving global tender & Project processes
- Intermediate level of Excel knowledge
- Capable to work under time pressure to meet deadlines
- Sense of ownership, collaboration and accountability
- Strong interpersonal skills to work in a matrix organisation
- Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal communication and technical report writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
- Fluent in English. French is an asset
- Communication skills & team spirit
- Ability for international travel
