The Opportunity

Tidewater is currently looking for a No. 1 Craftsperson - Pipefitter, the successful candidate must hold a Red Seal Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter Certificate. This is a full-time maintenance position based in Prince George, BC reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The primary role of this position will be maintaining industrial piping and related systems and will support other disciplines at the Prince George Refinery and Renewable Diesel Facility. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring work is executed in a timely, safe, and effective manner consistent with corporate and site-specific policies, procedures and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Layout, assembly, installation of piping and related systems

Maintaining stationary equipment consisting of piping, steam systems, safety devices, exchangers
Perform routine and preventative maintenance activities, such as cleaning, inspections and replacements
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems, and then formulate and implement short- and long-term solutions
Ensure all work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner according to guidelines and regulations

Assist with other equipment repairs and special project execution
This position may require working outside the scheduled shift and is driven by plant requirements
Support the Supervisor in the development and implementation of short- and long-term maintenance programs and standards
Work with other disciplines as required

Ideal Candidate

Certified as Pipefitter/Steamfitter under the Inter-provincial Red Seal program
A strong background in industrial piping systems including interpretation of construction drawings (P&ID’s, isometrics)
Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
Valid class 5 driver’s license
A good understanding of Maintenance practices and equipment in general
The ability to work in a team environment and a willingness to accept increased responsibility
Possess strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor industrial settings; including adverse weather conditions
Ability to pass pre-employment testing requirements

Experience:
Minimum 5 years related experience in a Refinery, Upgrader, Petro-Chemical, Sour gas processing or other heavy industry process facility
Experience with computerized maintenance work management systems (Maximo, SAP, or similar)
Experience in day-to-day maintenance and reliability in an industrial environment
