Position Summary

Brackendale Utilities is launching an exciting infrastructure improvement project involving the installation of underground utilities, electrical conduits, road paving, and sidewalk restoration.
We are seeking a skilled Traffic Control Person responsible for performing various hand duties including job site set up, tear down and safety around the job site including safe vehicular traffic control.

Experience Level

Intermediate

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Safely direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around active construction zones
  • Set up and remove traffic control signage and equipment
  • Maintain clear communication with site supervisors and crew
  • Monitor traffic flow and site conditions, reporting any hazards
  • Uphold safety standards and follow provincial traffic control regulations

Qualifications

  • Traffic Control Certification (BCTCP) is required and previous years of experience in the field.
  • Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to carry out work activities

Requirements

  • Valid TCP certification (e.g., BCCSA or equivalent)
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Strong situational awareness and communication skills
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Brackendale site
