About the role
Massilly has been manufacturing metal packaging (lids) for the food industry for over 25 years. We are looking for Press Operators to join our Stamping department to support the companies growth. You will be responsible for supporting continuous operation of the production line and checking the quality of the product produced.
Job description
What you’ll do:
- Operate, adjust, monitor and repair cap line equipment
- Responsible for lubrication of cap line equipment and removal of excess lubricant
- Set dies in scroll shears and presses
- Adjust compound placement to required standards
- Stay alert to developing mechanical or electrical problems, and take precautionary measures to prevent equipment damage
- Participate in and communicate preventative maintenance activities to avoid unscheduled breakdowns
- Put transfer tickets on finished loads of caps
- Maintain production, operational records and tinplate/enamel code ID controls
- Accurately set code, date stamps and check for legibility
- Verify correct tinplate code being processed
- Recognize defects at any point of production and takes appropriate corrective measures
- Visually inspects and gauges, verifying that product meets specifications
- Performing the required quality checks within specification at the defined frequency
- Reacting to repetitive spoilage (ex: Pressco camera, wicket mark, etc.) to prevent recurring defects within your control
- Responsible to report Food Safety and Quality problems to direct Supervisor
- Provide training on as a needed basis
Our facility runs three shifts - must be able to work all three
- Days ( 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m)
- Afternoons ( 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m)
- Nights ( 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m)
What we look for:
- Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for the entire shift
- Proven mechanical ability; experience operating manufacturing equipment
- Experience with hand tools and measuring devices is an asset
Profile
What we offer:
- Wage Increase After Training Period (Training Rate $26.00/hr. Fully Trained Rate $27.32/hr.)
- Shift Premiums - Afternoons $0.50/hr, Nights $1.00/hr
