Senior Advisor AML/ATF Regulatory Monitoring
About the role
A career as a Senior Advisor, AML/ATF Regulatory Monitoring within the AML/ATF Compliance Program team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in the proactive monitoring of the regulatory environment and in analyzing the impact of regulatory developments on the AML/ATF Compliance Program. Your role is to capture, analyze, and structure regulatory changes, identify gaps between requirements and the existing framework, and inform and equip stakeholders to support the proactive evolution of the AML/ATF Program.
Your role: Ensure continuous, structured, and well-documented monitoring of laws, regulations, guidelines, and regulatory communications related to AML/ATF. Analyze new requirements, regulatory guidance, and emerging trends, and assess their impact on existing practices and control frameworks. Produce clear, rigorous, and actionable regulatory impact analyses and summaries. Maintain up-to-date policies, standards, libraries, and procedures within the program, ensuring consistency and compliance. Support the team in AML/ATF-related regulatory research, including capturing relevant legislative texts, regulations, and applicable guidance. Collaborate closely with various teams on cross-functional initiatives, regulatory projects, and updates to tools and practices. Contribute to governance activities and the monitoring of the program’s regulatory framework.
Your team The Compliance Vice-Presidency is a team of specialists who work in an agile, proactive, and collaborative manner to anticipate regulatory challenges and continuously improve practices. Prerequisites: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (law, finance, accounting, or equivalent). Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, or a financial regulatory environment. Excellent understanding of the Canadian AML/ATF legislative and regulatory framework. Strong analytical skills, ability to structure information, and strong writing skills. Rigor, autonomy, and critical thinking. Ability to identify complex regulatory impacts and gaps in a constantly evolving environment. Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, particularly in Compliance and Legal Affairs.
