ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Clinical Support Staff plays a key role in supporting a patient-centred approach by assisting the clinical team with providing emotional support, facilitating therapeutic activities and helping with admissions and meal service delivery. This position includes working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team to deliver holistic and patient-focused services.
YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with patient admissions, including conducting bag searches, accepting parcels, and completing documentation.
- Provide social and emotional support to patients in alignment with their individualized care plans.
- Support meal service delivery by assisting with plating, serving, and setup, and ensuring compliance with dietary restrictions and food safety standards.
- Use non-violent crisis interventions and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
- Observe and shadow psychoeducational group sessions.
- Drive and escort patients to external appointments as required.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
- Uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative care environment.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:
- Currently enrolled in an addictions, mental health, or psychology program (proof of enrollment or transcript required)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license and recent Driver’s Abstract.
- Safe Food Handling Certificate.
- Current criminal record check, including vulnerable sector screening (required upon hire).
