The Finance Business Partner is a strategic finance professional who works closely with the Mining business unit to help them make informed business decisions. Providing insights and analysis that help businesses understand their financial situations, identify opportunities and risks, and make sound decisions about allocating resources.

Supporting the business in identifying, creating, and delivering key growth and EPS accretive opportunities whilst balancing commercial risk and exposure.

Job Description:

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain dynamic financial models to evaluate commercial initiatives, enabling scenario analysis, capital investment assessments, and strategic decision-making with flexibility and precision.
  • Lead monthly financial reviews and performance analysis (P&L + balance sheet). Proactively highlight and summarize insights into potential improvements/risks in addition to building the commercial mindset of the business.
  • Delivery of the overall financial performance of your responsible business including the achievement of revenue, profit and expense budgets on a monthly / quarterly /annual basis.
  • Meet financial reporting responsibilities ensuring results, budgets and forecasts are robust, appropriate and auditable. Responsible for ensuring that all major contracts are commercially reviewed, and relevant risks identified.
  • Preparation and on time delivery of Executive Committee management reporting, combining variance explanation and insights
  • Develop strong influencing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure maximization of commercial impact of relationships. Leading and encouraging collaboration between cross functional teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate across teams to support sales, operations, and growth initiative. Lead the development of alternative commercially viable propositions to stimulate profitable growth, drive operational efficiencies, effectively manage assets and increase annual Free Cash Flow
  • Ensure clear and defined processes to manage end to end ownership of customer deals/contracts.
  • Coach and mentor finance talent for future success

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
  • Finance Accounting designation
  • A minimum 5 to 7 years related experience.
  • 3-5 years in Business partnering roles
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to draw insights or conclusions from the data. Followed by presenting to a wide and varied group of stakeholders
