The Role:

The Junior Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing construction projects, with a focus on managing work from drywall to project handover. The role includes supervising trades, handymen, crews, and subcontractors, and liaising with external construction personnel to ensure work is completed in a timely, efficient, and high‑quality manner. This position will receive ongoing mentorship and guidance to support professional growth and development.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Assist with overseeing daily construction activities from site set‑up through project completion and handover.
  • Support the development and maintenance of construction production schedules and site management plans.
  • Provide regular progress and schedule updates to the Construction Manager.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and communicate with subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project timelines and specifications.
  • Review and understand project drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies and escalate issues as required.
  • Assist with site inspections throughout construction phases to ensure work meets client specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor trade performance to ensure architectural and engineering drawings are followed accurately.
  • Help identify and resolve site issues and conflicts; support contingency planning to minimize delays and risks.
  • Track project milestones and assist in maintaining accurate and timely project close‑out dates.
  • Liaise with the Customer Care team prior to handover to assist with identifying deficiencies or contractor oversights.
  • Promote safe and efficient work practices on site and assist with enforcing safety standards.
  • Participate in safety reporting and assist with meeting all legislative and company safety requirements.
  • Verify onsite safety training and certifications for all new hires, trades, and contractors.
  • Enforce all company policies, procedures, and site rules.
  • Perform other duties as required to support successful project delivery

What You Bring:

  • Post-secondary Certificate in Civil Engineering Technologist, Engineering Degree or other formal technical training that is relevant to the field.
  • A minimum of 5 – 8 years of work experience in residential construction with demonstrated increased responsibility/supervisory work.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans.
  • Strong communication, integration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to cope with high intensity and stressful environments.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
  • Understanding fundamentals of contracts and experience in managing contractors under the terms of a contract.
  • Updated safety certificates are required
  • A valid driver’s license is required as this requires travel to and from sites to the office.

Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 annually
