About the role

As an Assistant Wealth Management Advisor, you play an active role in supporting wealth managers. You ensure that clients receive a high level of service, help manage client accounts and support clients with their product and service choices, based on recommendations from the Desjardins Securities team. Interpersonal savvy and a solid command of operational activities in the securities environment are essential. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Advise clients on products and services that will meet their needs and help them reach their investment objectives, based on recommendations from wealth managers
  • Trade stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and other investment products on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare and review portfolios and maintain a trusted business relationship with clients
  • Respond to client inquiries about their account and/or the products and services offered, ensuring a high level of service is maintained at all times
  • Help ensure sound operational management of client accounts, including documents for updating client profiles in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures and regulatory standards in the securities industry
  • Monitor changes in the stock market and trends likely to affect clients’ investments
  • Stay on top of new investment products and maintain a high level of expertise in existing products, market trends and financial services in general

What you bring to the table

  • College diploma in a related field
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Registered Representative with the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO)
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients
