About This Opportunity The student intern will support the Global Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Inventory Team by assisting with inventory-related data analysis, financial documentation, and reporting. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in the intersection of supply chain and accounting, with a focus on inventory management, financial controls, and reporting. The intern will apply their accounting knowledge to ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory data and contribute to process improvements working alongside cross-functional teams.
The student in this position will benefit in the following areas:
- Gain hands-on experience in inventory management and financial reporting.
- Build practical skills in accounting for supply chain processes, data stewardship, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with SCM and finance professionals and learn best practices in a global business environment.
- Opportunity to contribute to financial process improvement initiatives.
Activities
- Aid in the collection, review, and analysis of inventory-related business metrics and financial data.
- Support preparation and interpretation of monthly and quarterly inventory financial reports for internal stakeholders.
- Assist in documenting and updating SCM dashboards, financial data sources,and user guidelines, emphasizing accounting and controls requirements.
- Participate in identifying and resolving data or reporting discrepancies,collaborating with SCM and finance stakeholders.
- Support special projects focused on financial analysis of inventory, costs, and process improvement.
- Consolidate site-level reporting inputs and address financial reporting issues under supervision.
Preferred Skills
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and understanding of SCM and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to create clear, concise, and visually appealing presentations suitable for senior management and executive audiences.
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for financial and supply chain topics.
- Willingness to learn and collaborate with cross-functional teams including SCM, Finance, and IT.
- Ability to follow instructions, document work, and seek guidance in the application of accounting practices.
Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on financial and inventory data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
