About the role

INTERMEDIATE CLERK 1 (Permit Department)

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Permit Clerk. Reporting to the Community and Facility Use Coordinator, the successful applicant will be responsible for administrating the after-hours use of Board facilities through the issuing of permits, collection of liability insurance and permit fees, in accordance with the Board’s Policy on the ‘Community Use of Facilities’.

LOCATION Permit Department, Education Centre, Midhurst

STATUS Full-time, Permanent

SCHEDULE Daily – 8:30 am to 4:30 pm 12 month position

Salary Range: $24.85 - $29.04 per hour ($1/hour increase as of Sept 1, 2025)

Qualifications: Required: Grade 12 Diploma. Strong interpersonal, customer service, oral and written communication skills. Able to work independently and as a team member. Detail-oriented with strong clerical, organization and coping skills. Able to problem solve, make decisions, apply policies and procedures and work within strict deadlines. Advanced skills working with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and Publisher. Testing will be part of the selection process.

Preferred: Experience with JD Edwards, eBASE system & knowledge of basic accounting principles would be an asset.

Testing may be required during the selection process.

Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees, even if currently in receipt of an OMERS pension.
