Who we need
Reporting to the VP, Growth and Innovation, we have a newly created opportunity for an Innovation Lead, Retail Fixtures . As a catalyst for change, you will bridge abstract ideas with practical execution, aligning innovation with Array’s strategic, financial, and environmental objectives. You will develop a multi‑year innovation strategy that will sharpen our capabilities, expand our offerings, and strengthen competitive advantage. With a global scope, you will represent the needs of, translating their challenges into actionable roadmaps that deliver immediate value and recurring revenue.
You will build and lead a continuously flowing innovation pipeline that converts opportunity into profitable ventures, operational improvements, and next‑generation retail solutions. Partnering across design, engineering, materials, manufacturing, sustainability, and external collaborators, you will elevate how we discover, develop, and deliver what’s next.
This is an on-site role based at our headquarters in Scarborough, Ontario.

As our new Innovation Lead, Retail Fixtures, you will:

Lead strategically. You will develop and execute Array Marketing’s innovation strategy to drive growth and competitive advantage. You will identify and analyze emerging technologies, market trends, and industry shifts to inform strategic decision-making. You will build and manage a diverse innovation portfolio, balancing incremental improvements with breakthrough innovations, and oversee the innovation pipeline to ensure a consistent flow of projects from concept to execution.

Collaborate across functions. You will partner with R&D, creative design, product development, engineering, marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to integrate innovation across business functions. You will facilitate collaboration between internal and external stakeholders, and engage with clients and industry leaders to anticipate market needs and deliver customized innovation solutions.

Shape the innovation pipeline. You will define what innovation means for each specific application or opportunity, identifying the core problems to be solved. You will establish and oversee an innovation framework that fosters creative thinking and structured ideation. You will collaborate on all innovation projects, focusing on ideation, material selection, engineering solutions, manufacturing processes, and sustainability. You will develop and refine innovation methodologies and structured testing processes to ensure efficient project execution and mitigate risk.

Drive graphic and supply chain innovation. You will provide expert input on graphic-related innovation, identifying new technologies, process optimizations, and cost-saving alternatives. You will work closely with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to assess alternative suppliers, materials, and production techniques, expanding Array’s supply chain ecosystem to ensure access to cutting-edge materials, sustainable solutions, and efficient production methods.

Manage resources. You will secure resources for innovation projects, presenting business cases to senior leadership. You will identify and cultivate outsourced resource partners to fill internal expertise gaps and allocate budgets efficiently across innovation initiatives to maximize impact and return on investment (ROI).

Foster a culture of innovation. You will encourage risk-taking, experimentation, and learning from failure to drive creativity across teams. You will mentor and develop innovation teams, ensuring skill development and cross-functional capabilities, while promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Measure success. You will define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of innovation initiatives. You will monitor global economic trends, sustainability initiatives, and retail market shifts to adapt and evolve strategies.
You have:

The design and business experience. You have a degree or diploma in Innovation Management, Engineering, Business, Industrial Design, or a related field. You have in-depth industry experience in innovation leadership, product development, or operational transformation, driving complex innovation projects. You are strategic, creative, and visionary with the ability to translate abstract ideas into tangible business value. You have expertise in Lean Six Sigma, Agile methodologies, and Design Thinking. You possess the financial acumen to develop and present ROI-driven business cases.

The people and project leadership. You have a proven ability to foster an innovation-driven culture and mentor teams in an Agile, cross-functional environment. You navigate challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, balancing competing priorities. You lead and actively listen during team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and project planning, bringing a problem-solving mindset to every challenge. You can pivot when needed, ensuring design aligns with business goals and user needs. Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile methodology certification is preferred.
