About the role
Knowledge & Skills:
- Broad knowledge of instructional methods, activities, and the development of children ages 6 to 12.
- Promotes philosophy of “Learning Through Play”.
- Knowledge of children and youth programming
- Knowledge of Trauma-Informed, Person-Centered Care.
- Knowledge of the Harm Reduction Model and Housing First Philosophy
- Strong interpersonal skills with peers, participants, parents, and the public
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
Qualifications:

Experience working with children 6-12 years.

Post-secondary education (completed or working towards) in a related field considered an asset

Valid CPR and First Aid- Level C with AED
-
Criminal Record Check and Child and Youth Intervention Record Check

Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable mode of transportation.

About Young Women's Christian Assoc.
Young Women’s Christian Association of Zambia is a Christian, membership, non-partisan, non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to the empowerment of the community. YWCA Zambia works to ensure that Human Rights for Women, Youths and Children are protected and their economic situation is strengthened. Since its inception in Kitwe, Zambia in 1957, YWCA has stood at the forefront of social change and promoting the rights of women, youth and children. As one of the oldest women’s organizations in the country, the organization has over the 60 years of its existence gained considerable experience in implementing programmes that address gender based violence and promote gender equality and women’s socioeconomic empowerment. YWCA is operational in 9 provinces and 51 districts of Zambia focusing on its primary target namely women, youth and children. The organization equally embraces working with men and boys as critical change agents in its programming in order to holistically tackle gender based violence and promote gender equality.
