We are currently seeking a Portfolio Trading Associate to join our Portfolio Operations team. In this role, the successful candidate is primarily responsible for onboarding accounts, handling trade confirmation, facilitating the settlement process and reconciliation. This will generally involve close communication with brokers, CI’s custodians, fund accounting, traders, a selection of portfolio management groups and governance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
-
Provide daily trading operations support to all Portfolio Management groups within CI, with timely Custodian Account and Broker onboarding.

Support Trade confirmations and settlement of various asset classes, including: Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives

Communicate trade allocations across all markets to brokers, custodians and clients where necessary, verifying trades settle on time and research and correct any trade discrepancies

Work with brokers and custodians globally on international trade settlement issues in several markets

Review and resolve post settlement discrepancies

Monitor daily reconciliations between various internal and external systems

Develop a zero-tolerance attitude for trading and accounting errors, working tirelessly to reduce risks of errors.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Bachelors’ degree related to finance/business
-
2-3 years of middle office experience
-
Advanced knowledge and experience with Charles River Order Management systems
-
Good understanding of Exchange and OTC derivative valuation in one or more asset classes
-
Excellent communication and listening skills to understand business needs and translate those needs into workable solutions
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
-
Strong logic and analytical skills to clearly identify key issues
-
Effective time-management and ability learn, prioritize, and execute quickly
-
Advance Excel Skills
