THE ROLE
The Mental Performance Coach - CANSOFCOM will coordinate, prepare, and deliver mental performance training programs and services, collaborate and deliver mental performance workshops and/or briefs based on the demands/needs of the environment and/or local Base/Wing/Unit (B/W/U) chain of command, as well as provide one-on-one mental performance coaching services.
The Mental Performance Coach - CANSOFCOM will maintain a record of services delivered, participation levels and individual client meeting case notes, as well as collaborate with local B/W/U performance, health, and medical resources and refer clients, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
Master’s degree in Sports Psychology, Kinesiology, Health Studies or a related field AND some years of experience in Mental Performance coaching
AND
Current Canadian Sports Psychology Association (CPSA) Professional Member
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Experience
In planning, researching and conducting/delivering mental training courses/programs, workshops, presentations and specialized clinics
In evaluating mental performance training sessions/programs
In assisting with the delivery of mental performance skills assessments
In assisting with the development of reports
In assisting with the delivery of presenting reports and findings
In applying policies, procedures, and regulations
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Bilingual or French Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset
