The Role
Our Accounts Payable Associate will support the accurate and timely operation of the Finance and Accounting function by processing payables with a high degree of accuracy under strict deadlines. Effective communication with peers, managers and external parties is critical. This is a part-time role, working from our head office 2-3 days per week. This is a temporary 6-month contract position with potential of extension.
This role is located at our Vancouver, BC head office. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Manage all incoming invoices, including processing and reconciliation, verifying rates/ supporting documentation and obtaining approvals
- Entry of invoices into our accounting system in an accurate and timely manner
- Communicate with external vendors and internal departments to resolve any issues or discrepancies found during invoice verification process
- Analyze and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any outstanding payment issues
- Prepare expense reports for executive team members
- Complete ad hoc special assignments and projects as required
What you bring
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable communicating professionally face to face, over the phone and email
- High proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel (ability to effectively prepare and use pivot tables and formulas)
- An accounting degree/certificate or similar work experience
- Experience with Sage 300 is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills is essential
- An understanding of proper document management
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
- Takes pride in quality of work output and keen to continually grow within the role
- Ability to take ownership over responsibilities but comfortable asking questions when unsure
- Team player who demonstrates a willingness to support the needs of the business
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Compensation
- The pay range for this position is $19 – 25 per hour. The successful candidates starting pay rate will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.

The Role
