About the role

At West Fraser Grande Prairie, the Stores Clerk is responsible for the accurate receiving, stocking, issuance and tracking of materials, parts and supplies. Working with the Stores Materials Leader & the Purchaser, this role is a vital part of the Stores Team.

You'll Do:

  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper material handling, forklift operation and lifting practices to support overall safety in the Stores Area
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders / packing slips to identify any discrepancies
  • Label, tag, and store materials in designated spots
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels (min / max) and conduct regular cycle counts
  • Investigate any inventory variances in timely manner
  • Support the facility through accurate distribution / issuance of parts & supplies to Team Members
  • Reinforce established procedures to prevent inventory errors or losses
  • Other tasks as assigned to support Team success

You Have:

Candidate for this position should have the following qualifications and / or combination of education & experience to be successful for this opportunity:

  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with shipping & receiving or inventory control responsibilities
  • Attention to detail is paramount and ability to problem solve inventory variances
  • Solid time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and pivot to meet urgent requests
  • Proven track record of reliability and self-driven to complete tasks without constant supervision
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel priority) and experience / confidence to work with inventory management programs (e.g. Oracle / Maximo / IVARA)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to safely meet physical requirements of repetitive tasks, lifting, working in an industrial environment
