Essential Job Functions Maintain the IMS sub system procs and JCL

Execution of backups of IMS system datasets with reorgs as required (RECONS)

Support for system software related issues, when on call 24x7

Problem research and resolution of system software related issues

Basic change management functions: ticketing, opening and closing changes, etc.

Performing Data Security audits (collecting evidence of compliance, correcting noncompliances fount in an audit)

Creation/installation of new IMS subsystems and related sub products

Upgrades of existing IMS subsystems and related sub products

Application of preventative/corrective maintenance PTF's and HIPER PTF's on test and production system software libraries

Enforcement of IMS security and audit conformance

Perform Disaster Recovery drill exercises

Provision for emergency system restart and problem resolution to ensure online availability of IMS system software and sub products

Allocating, maintaining, moving, and tuning IMS and related sub product datasets

Maintain IMS subsystem and related sub product system software parameters

Usage of IMS trace facilities to monitor both performance and audit guidelines

Lead moderately complex projects including client driven projects and internal projects (upgrade projects, etc)

Technical Expertise

  • 7+ years’ experience with IMS sub system procs and JCL associated job role, with at least 3+ years’ experience specifically supporting zIMS sub system procs and JCL
  • Incident/Problem/Change/Software Asset Management (ITIL)
  • Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery
  • Have SMPE experience. Have completed packaging of software for upgrade or installs
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members
  • Organization skills to balance and prioritize work
  • Leadership skills to assist less experienced personnel
  • Ability to integrate moderately complex hardware and software systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Professional presence and confidence in addressing complex technical challenges
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Work Environment

  • This position requires some in-office days at our Toronto location
  • Provide 24/7 on call support – this is part of a shared rotation with teammates
  • May require on-call work
  • May require weekend or shift work
