Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Coordinator Location: Richmond, British Columbia, Canada Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role We are hiring for one of our clients, a leading heavy building materials manufacturer. We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Coordinator to help construct what's next. In this role, you will ensure all electrical, instrumentation, and automation work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time. Your primary objective is to reach maximum reliability of plant installations while optimizing operating costs and adhering to strict OH&S regulations. You will coordinate with other departments to execute maintenance plans, improve asset value, and assist plant teams in specifying new electrical equipment.
What You Will Accomplish Coordinate the development and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs for plant electrical and automation installations. Manage the execution of daily maintenance activities and major shutdowns, utilizing both internal and contracted resources. Improve plant reliability by identifying critical spare parts and proposing optimal stock levels through FMEA and RCA techniques. Determine and schedule necessary corrective actions for instrumentation and automation equipment to minimize unplanned downtime. Support the Maintenance Manager in creating and controlling the maintenance budget, ensuring strict follow-up on costs. Supervise the quality of work performed by maintenance electricians and third-party contractors in the field. Lead evaluation and training programs for the electrical maintenance team to develop technical competencies. Champion innovation by evaluating new technologies to optimize maintenance costs and improve the technical condition of equipment. Promote a culture of safety by communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all areas.
What We Are Looking For Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related technical field), OR Certified Tradesman (Electrician) with applicable provincial/state certification (e.g., Blue Seal preferred if applicable to the region). Additional Preferred: Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP) membership. Experience: 3–5 years of maintenance experience in cement or a similar heavy industry environment. Experience in a unionized environment is an asset. Technical Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of SAP (PM, MM, PS), Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, TIS, and PLC troubleshooting. Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; ability to manage stress in critical situations. Safety Requirement: Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and the proper use of approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Subject to reasonable accommodation requests under applicable law, employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass mandatory fit tests.
