THE ROLE:

The Director of Sales & Marketing position is generally responsible for directing the sales and marketing efforts of the hotel in order to maximize revenue. The incumbent will be responsible to lead a dynamic sales team, coordinate all marketing initiatives and sell hotel rooms with a significant revenue contribution.

ACTIVITIES:

The duties of the Director of Sales & Marketing include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Strategist for Sales, Marketing and Profitability Initiatives;

  • Develop and implement a marketing plan and budget to achieve established sales objectives;

  • Manage turnover and work in parallel with the General Manager to maximize sales and profits and establish a pricing and selling price strategy;

  • Provide the team with resources, training, coaching and moral support to do a good job. Provide orientation and ongoing development support, ensuring that training programs are consistent with individual career goals;

  • Coach and energize the sales force in order to create a sales culture within a team of competent, efficient and united members who want to maximize their abilities;

  • Act as a coach who is able to challenge and empower his team in revenue growth;

  • Participate in internal and external business activities and lead the managers of the different market segments;

  • Implement Marriott marketing programs. Maximize regional and national resources while taking responsibility for the results of the hotel;

  • Provide overall hotel marketing leadership with revenue generation initiatives and revenue generation initiatives and ROI controls;

  • Establish public relations links in the various markets and ensure the representation of the hotel in the community through partnerships and participation in events in order to keep the hotel at the top of the list;

  • Ensures teamwork with department heads as a sales and marketing specialist. Maintain open communication with regional, national and corporate teams;

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required;

  • Assume responsibility for other tasks as required.

COMPETENCIES WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Diploma in Hotel Management Studies
  • Previous 3-year professional experience in the hotel market, including at least two years as Sales Director or at a higher level
  • Sales Leadership
  • Leadership and dynamism of the sales team
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving revenue goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual - French / English
  • In-depth knowledge of computer programs
  • Ability to analyze and interpret any financial data
  • Dynamic temperament and exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Effective and creative leadership with a high level of professionalism
  • Strong skills in human resources management and administration
  • Knowledge of automated sales systems
