Job Summary

Southlake Health is excited to embark on our transformative journey to become a fully integrated academic community health organization. As part of this mandate, the hospital is advancing a formal partnership with York University’s new medical school, set to welcome its first cohort in 2028. This partnership, alongside broader goals, will support interprofessional learning, research, and population health management and will shape Southlake’s learning evolution.

Are you a strategic thinker who loves bringing ideas to life? Southlake Health is looking for a Project Manager, Academic Affairs, to drive innovation in education and research across our dynamic healthcare community. You will collaborate with clinicians, educators, and leaders to turn academic goals into a lasting impact. This hands-on role creates the opportunity to thrive in implementation and operations and build from the ground up.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the design and implementation of academic initiatives, including medical learner integration, coordinated education across departments, and academic governance structures

  • Support the operational components of Southlake’s academic partnerships, including with York University and other institutional collaborators

  • Assist in developing a framework for academic operations across the hospital, including faculty onboarding, learner supports, and teaching infrastructure

  • Coordinate internal and external working groups, stakeholder consultations, and planning activities related to academic priorities

  • Lead the development and monitoring of project plans, timelines, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies

  • Collaborate with departments across the hospital to align academic goals with operational realities

  • Draft internal briefing materials, presentations, progress reports, and communication updates to support academic initiatives

  • Assist in the development of business cases, funding proposals, and evaluation frameworks to support academic growth

  • Monitor implementation progress, identify barriers, and support change management strategies to ensure sustainability

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Education, Public Policy, or related field

  • PMP certification or equivalent project/initiative coordination experience in healthcare or academic settings

  • 5 years’ experience supporting complex initiatives, preferably related to health care, research, or academic operations

  • Demonstrated ability to engage diverse internal and external stakeholders to build consensus and advance shared priorities

  • Experience leading, organizing, and facilitating project-related meetings, developing project reports, presentations, and other related documents, as required

  • Proven organizational skills and ability to handle multiple assignments and priorities

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships, gain credibility, and network effectively with all levels of the organization and with external clients and partners

  • Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Experience supporting or implementing change management processes in the health care environment

  • Ability to perform duties professionally and courteously and produce high-quality work while meeting deadlines and budget in accordance to Southlake Regional Health Centre standards
