The Claims Analyst is responsible for evaluating, processing, and adjudicating Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) insurance claims and Replacement Vehicle Insurance (RVI). This role ensures that all claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations. The analyst works closely with customers, dealerships, lenders, and internal departments to gather required documentation and resolve claims in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze GAP & RVI claims submissions for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility.
- Evaluate supporting documentation such as loan/lease agreements, payment histories, vehicle payoff statements, vehicle Bill of sale, new vehicle prices and insurance settlement details.
- Communicate with claimants, lienholders, dealerships, and insurance companies to obtain missing or additional information.
- Accurately calculate benefit amounts on GAP and RVI based on contract terms and conditions.
- Determine claim outcomes and process claim settlements within established turnaround times.
- Document claim activity and maintain organized, up-to-date records in the claim management system.
- Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, regulatory requirements, and state insurance laws.
- Respond to inquiries and provide updates to claimants and stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Identify potential fraud or misrepresentation and escalate appropriately.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and quality assurance initiatives as needed.
- Participate in training and ongoing education to stay current on policies, products, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications (Required):
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in insurance claims, finance, or auto-related industries.
- Understanding of GAP & RVI products, automotive Bill of sale and financing, and loan/lease agreements.
- Understand total loss insurance settlement processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (English/French)
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Previous experience working with GAP & RVI claims or in a related auto insurance/finance field.
