Position Title:
Security Specialist / Security Architect
Position Description:
We are seeking an Intermediate Security Specialist / Security Architect for a one year on site contract in Regina, Saskatchewan. This role is focused on safeguarding information systems by designing, building, and implementing cybersecurity controls. You will be responsible for analyzing applications and infrastructure to ensure security requirements are met, identifying vulnerabilities, and guiding the development of secure systems. Working with cross functional teams, you will help shape policies, standards, and best practices while anticipating and mitigating risks that could impact the organization’s data and infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Provide security requirements to projects and operational teams based on industry standards and best practices
• Perform threat and risk assessments, identify design gaps, and recommend improvements
• Align frameworks and security practices with overall business and technology strategy
• Collaborate with project staff, architects, and security experts to identify solutions
• Contribute to roadmaps, strategies, and security visions with enterprise and data architecture teams
• Define and maintain standards, patterns, and reusable artifacts for predictable designs
• Participate in project and security meetings, ensuring clear documentation and communication
• Stay current with industry developments and adapt best practices to the organization’s environment
Qualifications and Experience:
• Strong track record of continuous improvement in cybersecurity and architecture practices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across senior and junior stakeholders
• Proven project management and organizational skills
• Experience establishing and implementing security standards such as ISO 27019 and compliance requirements relevant to critical infrastructure such as NERC CIP
• Background in designing, integrating, and managing complex security infrastructure solutions in enterprise environments
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• CISSP certification is required, with SCCP, GIAC, or similar considered an asset
• TOGAF certification is an asset
