Job Description
As a member of the interprofessional team on the Complex Continuing Care Unit, the Recreational Therapist provides therapeutic programming to support patients requiring complex medical care, functional enhancement, or palliative care, with the overarching goal of community reintegration.
The therapist collaborates in developing patient-centered goals and discharge plans, conducts individual assessments to identify leisure interests, and delivers group and individual programs that promote mental, physical, and socio-emotional well-being. Treatment plans are guided by best practices, and clinical skills are maintained through ongoing education and self-directed learning.
Qualifications

B.A. in Recreation and Leisure Studies with Specialization in Therapeutic Recreation, or equivalent.

Minimum 1-3 years experience preferred

Minimum 1 year inpatient hospital experience
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Strong organizational abilities with proven time management skills
-
Ability to function independently, demonstrate sound problem solving skills and safe work practice.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all team members.
-
Flexible to meet changing department / service needs
-
Rehab and / or Geriatric assessment and treatment experience an asset.
-
Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
Additional Information
Site: Milton (Oakville and Georgetown as requried)
Hours: Mon - Sun – Various rotating 7.5 hour shifts (Hours subject to change based on operational requirements)
Salary: $37.002 - $42.611 per hour
