Range : $30 - $40
Vacancy: Replacement
The major role of the Process Planner is to translate engineering drawings into a build plan and communicate those plans through our business.
This role works closely with the value stream team leaders and the manufacturing engineering group to understand capability of our equipment and processing times for the various components we make.
Specific duties include:
- Reviewing engineering drawings and generating production routings in BAAN
- Maintaining standard routing templates for families of custom parts & Standards parts
- Work with manufacturing to maintain the capability matrix of our available tooling and fixturing
- Communicate and coordinate between Sub-Contractors , Buyers, Team Leaders, and Manufacturing Technicians
- Processing engineering changes to drawings or BOMs and communicating required change to the affected teams
- Work with the manufacturing engineers and shop floor technicians to develop new processes and fixturing when required
- Maintain information in Baan as it relates to Production Orders and Purchase Orders accurately
- Participate in new product launch activities
- Support development engineering with production of parts in house manufacturing or outsourcing
- Support teams for high volume manufacturing
Qualifications include:
- Post-secondary technical education (College diploma or University degree preferred) in areas of planning, scheduling, operations management.
- Understanding of metal cutting and grinding technologies
- Manufacturing experience as a machinist of at least 5 years.
- Proficient with computers (MS Office, Baan, UGX ,ERP)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Proficient with G,D & T
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
