Your Role at Cabot
Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse, Packaging and Shipping (WPS) Supervisor to work in our Sarnia Carbon Black Manufacturing Facility. Cabot is a leading player in the carbon black industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and sustainable solutions. We are seeking a skilled and motivated WPS Supervisor to join our dynamic team and contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing facility. The WPS Supervisor will be responsible for the warehouse, packaging and shipping areas to assure efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness with the best use of resources and promoting a high level of safety to meet all warehousing and shipping requirements.
How You Will Make an Impact

Supervise, Direct and Coach employees – motivate and support the team to maintain and increase safety, efficiency, productivity, skills and promote a cooperative attitude. Coaches, monitors and trains employees to promote accountability and task performance to Cabot standards.

Clear Communication – ensure timely and accurate communication with all relevant departments regarding factors that may impact daily schedules and customer orders.

Identify Opportunities- Work cohesively with external and internal customers to identify and effectively communicate system and equipment issues and prospects for improvements and repairs.

Safety Leadership - Ensure site safety rules, safe working practices and good housekeeping practices are followed. Addressing safety issues and concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. Following Incident/Near Miss Investigation and Reporting procedures.

Equipment Monitoring – promotes the safe use of machinery, equipment inspections and audits. Ensures packing machines, shunt trucks, track mobile and forklifts are maintained for optimum performance.

What You Will Bring to Cabot
- A self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced and evolving environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills.
- Knowledge of warehousing, packing, shipping practices and inventory management.
- Good understanding of plant capabilities and throughput constraints of the plant units.
- Time and project management skills to assist in the execution of capital and department projects. Experience with work permitting, JSAs, scheduling and contractor management.
- Knowledge of systems involving materials, hoppers, packaging and vehicle loading.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, concise and clear.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams and conduct effective one on one and group meetings.
Required Education and Experience
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Logistics, Business or Operations Management preferred or High school diploma and equivalent experience.
- Forklift operating experience an asset
- 3-5 years supervisory experience preferably in a warehousing/manufacturing environment

- Salary Range : The pay range for this role is from $100,000 to $130,000. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skill, qualifications and experience.
