You keep a pulse on the latest trends in game genres, platforms, game mechanics, level design, and gaming pop culture, specifically through the lens of what young players are consuming.
  • In this role, you'll have the amazing opportunity to work with the senior producer and producers to develop video games for a school-age audience, specifically for platforms like Roblox and cbckids.ca. If you have a love for storytelling, gameplay, and a desire to produce captivating games and gaming content that resonates with young audiences, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate closely with the CBC Kids digital Senior Producer, to support the start to finish workflows involved in researching, developing, and launching innovative, engaging video games for cbckids.ca and popular platforms like Roblox.
  • You'll serve as the key point of contact for the senior producer and our external game developers, ensuring seamless communication and project flow.
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback on gameplay, level design, and narrative back to our external partners ensuring our games are suitable and fun for our intended audience.
  • Stay at the forefront of audience-specific gaming trends and innovative gameplay developments for kids and families, and regularly share this knowledge with the wider team.
  • You'll proactively select and curate licensed game content suitable for our audiences from vendor libraries and present it to Senior Producer for final approvals and purchasing.
  • Track data and metrics and work closely with the Senior Producer to analyze and apply learnings to help improve future game selection, iterations and curation.
  • Experience and understanding of the Roblox platform and its community is a significant asset.
  • Ideation for and participation in creative meetings, pitch sessions, outreach events, focus testing and other CBC Kids-wide initiatives is a must.
  • Administrative tasks: use Google Workspace tools such as Google Sheets, Google Docs, and Google Forms, CMS management systems for publishing, plus project management software such as Monday.com to manage and organize data, create reports, and maintain documentation. This includes developing and updating spreadsheets for tracking project progress to ensure efficient communication within the team.
