The Engineering Manager – Light Water Reactor Mechanical BOP Steam Cycle Systems will provide leadership to a diverse technical team of dedicated engineers and scientists. The manager will lead a team responsible for providing support to the existing fleet and next generation of Light Water Reactors (LWR) advancing the design of secondary steam cycle systems and applicable technical interface with design partners. The team works collaboratively both internally and externally with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to successfully deliver New Nuclear Plant Projects and Nuclear Service Projects for GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear
Job Description Essential Responsibilities: As the Engineering Manager, Mechanical BOP Steam Cycle Systems, you will:
- Report to the Senior Manager of Mechanical Systems Engineering.
- Provide technical and managerial leadership for a diverse team focus on design of the secondary steam cycle systems such as Condensate and Feedwater, Main Turbine, Moisture Separator Reheater, and Main Condenser
- Inspire, hire, coach and ensure the development of the teams technical and leadership talent/depth
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project managers and stakeholders
- Interface with external partners, customers, the NRC/CNSC or other applicable country specific regulatory agency, as required on technical issues
- Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines
- Plan, organize and manage the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables which include system design specifications, piping and instrument diagrams, logic diagrams, process flow calculations and diagrams, hydraulic resistance calculations, equipment sizing, and FMEA evaluations.
- Support procurement of major components such as Steam Turbine and Generator, Moisture Separator Reheater, Main Condenser, Feedwater Heaters for the lead unit.
- Provide guidance for use of systems specifications as required by other GVH technical disciplines and project design partners
- Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH
- Support GVH initiatives, process improvement, simplification and design to cost
- Support GVH Nuclear Energy quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and responding to Corrective Actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline or similar
- At least 12 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience
- At least 8 years of experience in the nuclear industry/safety critical industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry

- Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of highly experienced engineers and balance multiple demands and priorities
- High performing energetic leader with demonstrated ability to deliver results while exhibiting behaviors that promote strong team performance
- Experience with project management skillset (communication, risk, planning/scheduling, change management)
- Knowledge of US NRC and/or CNSC licensing requirements
- EPC experience and knowledge; specifically, power plants
- Understanding of nuclear industry and technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
- Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.) in Ontario
