With approvals from the Ministry of Long-Term Care and Construction started, peopleCare is excited to build a new 160-bed LTC home in the heart of Tillsonburg! The brand-new Tillsonburg LTC Home will open in August 2026.
THE ROLE
The Resident Care Manager provides day-to-day clinical and operational leadership to nursing and personal care teams. In this role, you help ensure residents receive safe, effective, and person-centred care that supports dignity, choice, and quality of life. As a visible and accessible leader, you will mentor Registered Staff and PSWs, support clinical competency, and help translate care standards into consistent daily practice. You will oversee key clinical programs, support frontline performance, and partner with residents and families to address needs and concerns. This role is ideal for a compassionate clinical leader who enjoys coaching teams, solving problems, and creating a positive environment where people can do their best work. At peopleCare, your leadership will help strengthen resident outcomes, team confidence, and the everyday experience of care.
REPORTS TO: Director of Care
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to Registered Staff and PSWs
- Support staff competency through observation, feedback, skills validation, and just-in-time education
- Assist with orientation and onboarding of nursing and personal care team members
- Oversee daily practice for key clinical programs, including falls, skin and wound care, medication management, pain and palliative care, and responsive behaviours
- Monitor day-to-day care delivery to ensure alignment with legislation, policies, and evidence-based practice
- Identify gaps in practice, escalate concerns, and support corrective actions
- Support recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and performance management for nursing and personal care teams
- Promote a positive, professional, and resident-centred work environment
- Monitor appropriate use of staffing resources, clinical supplies, and equipment
- Support incident follow-up, complaint resolution, and inspection readiness
- Participate in staff meetings, care conferences, committees, and implementation of action items
- Act as a key contact for residents and families, responding to concerns with professionalism and care
- Promote dignity, respect, choice, autonomy, and quality of life for residents
- Completes all other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR certification
- Clinical nursing experience in long-term care or a related healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of resident-centred care, clinical standards, and quality-of-life principles
- Experience supporting frontline staff in a leadership, coaching, or mentorship capacity
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work onsite with flexibility to support all shifts and after-hours needs as required
