Scope of the role

Reporting to the Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the incumbent of the role will be responsible for managing warehouse staff and monitoring inventory to ensure that products are received, transferred, stored, and shipped in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. The selected person will also be responsible for ensuring we keep up with industry best practices and processes. Adhere to CBA and company policies.

Roles and r****esponsibilities

  • Plan, organize, supervise and participate in daily distribution center operation and activities, including the receipt, documentation, storage, safety and distribution of equipment & supplies.
  • Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned warehouse employees; assign workloads to DC workers.
  • Receive, unpack, pack, load issue, store and deliver materials, supplies or equipment; complete packing slips for shipments as assigned.
  • Route, schedule, pack and prepare orders for delivery; load vehicles.
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs and prepare reports as required; maintain inventory of items in the DC; file records as required, supervise the assembly of inventory printouts and catalogs as required.
  • Monitor automated DC system; operate a computer to enter data, correct errors and control key screens as required.
  • Assure proper routine maintenance and servicing of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
  • Observe Health, Safety, Environmental & Regulatory regulations; maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
  • Assist management in establishing DC standards and procedures; advise of budget-related needs, assist in the bid process for various supplies as required.
  • Review and communicate staffing requirements for both the dayshift and nightshift.
  • Perform a shift change 15 minutes prior to shift starting with outgoing supervisor
  • Identify appropriate resources, perform daily workload assignments, and make staffing adjustments as required.
  • Monitor team performance and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Provide assistance to team members and conduct training as needed.
  • Key in shifts production completed on the Productivity report from the company shared drive.
  • Understand customer labeling and packaging requirements and ensure to meet the customer needs.
  • Supervise all the activities in the distribution center as per standard operating policies.
  • Receive, store and handle products effectively in the distribution center.
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives to ensure quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Track inventory of pallets, bins and racks.
  • Oversee product shipments to customers in accurate and timely manner.
  • Ensure that distribution center is maintained clean, safe, and organized.
  • Supervise, train, and complete all customer requested special projects (ie. Sorting, quality inspections, labelling, marking, etc)
  • Identify & facilitate process improvement projects to drive efficiency
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Role requirements

  • Experience

  • Three to seven years related experience preferred

  • Management experience

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld devices (RF Guns)

  • Education – High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate (required)

  • Responsible for enforcing best Quality, Environmental and Sustainable practices and ensuring procedures are carried out within day-to-day operations.

  • Knowledgeable with the ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 standard requirements applicable to assigned functions and role.

  • Takes accountability and supports team to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality (QMS) and environmental (EMS) management systems.

  • Uses a risk-based approach to identify risks and opportunities which may affect conformity of products and services rendered and customer satisfaction.
