About the role

Your Role And Responsibilities Job Summary: The role of a quality control chemist in Brenntag Canada is to complete quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis on products produced and sold by Brenntag to ensure that our customers continue to receive the high-quality chemicals they’ve come to expect from Brenntag.

Job Description:

  • Perform all standard quantitative and qualitative analyses assigned to the specific laboratory work area.
  • Maintain integrity of all standards, calibrations, and instruments used to complete the analytical testing process.
  • Ensure all proper quality control metrics are met prior to releasing analytical data.
  • Maintain standard operation procedures (SOPs) for workstation.
  • Keep accurate records of analyses, calibrations, QC, and maintenance activities.
  • Implement and validate analytical methods.
  • Flag and report non-conformances.
  • Provide technical support with chemistry to Operations.
  • Establish good communication and coordination with Laboratory Administration to ensure continuity and flow of samples, results, and reports.
  • Ensure the compliance and effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor.

Your Profile Education and Experience:

  • BSc in Chemistry minimum; MSc or PhD preferred.
  • Previous experience in analytical chemistry laboratories an asset.
