About the role

Your Opportunity:

The Administrative Support III - Records Management is responsible for specified Health Information/Records Management (HI/RM) activities and helps maintain the integrity of the patient health record through verification and validation of patient information, identifying missing reports on charts, filing, retrieving, and sorting confidential patient information as required. This position provides front line reception (including answering the telephone) for the HIM department, responds to requests for patient information in accordance with Access and Disclosure and organizational policies.

As an Administrative Support III, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Proper telephone etiquette, interpersonal and communication skills at a level that would permit individual dealing with inquiries from staff, physicians, and any member of the public requiring services from the Health Information/Records Management department. English language skills in reading, writing, and oral communication required. Team player with demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, modeling behaviors that support and contribute positively to team operations and working relationships, and ability to adapt to change required. Must be physically able to perform duties involving standing, sitting, bending, lifting, reaching and stretching for extended periods of time. Must be able to work all shifts as operationally required. Proficiency testing will be required on the following: Medical Terminology, Keyboard skills with efficient use of numerical keypad and Microsoft proficiency including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate of a Unit Clerk or Medical Office Assistant course preferred. Previous hospital experience in an office environment preferred.
