Swan Valley Co-op is hiring a Term (1-year) Installed Sales Carpenter at our Home and Building (HABS) location in Swan River, MB. Preference is for a full-time role, but part-time hours may be considered for otherwise qualified candidates.

What you’ll do:
The successful candidate is responsible for delivering excellent customer experiences in alignment with Swan Valley Co-op’s guiding statements. Reporting to the Installed Sales Manager, they are responsible for all labour related tasks associated with installed sales. Core duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Working with customers to determine the scope and components included in the project
- Ensuring the quality and condition of all merchandise and installation meets a standard of excellence
- Assisting with erecting and dismantling of forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, and barricades
- Communicating any complaints, concerns, or warranty issues, and assisting with assessment and placement of claims for damaged or faulty merchandise to the Installed Sales Manager
- Operating and maintaining various power tools
- Observing safety measures and reporting any hazardous conditions immediately, ensuring department image and safety standards are withheld

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

You have excellent customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to problem solve.

You have a Class 5 license.

You have 3+ years of carpentry experience; completion of a recognized apprenticeship would be considered an asset.

Have the ability to assess the quality of materials.

Have the ability to safely operate tools, machines, and other equipment.

Have advanced critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills.

You can fulfill physical job requirements - manual/heavy labour (up to 50lbs) on a repetitive and regular basis.

You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.

You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.

Swan Valley Co-op will provide a work vehicle, all shop equipment, and specialized tools.
