About the role
Some of what you will do:
- Reporting to the Director of Media and Marketing Operations, the email marketing manager will be a expert regarding best practices with email campaigns. This role will be responsible for the execution of email marketing strategies including Mass emails and personalized automated emails to both B2B and B2C audiences. This role will be responsible for driving customer engagement, sales, and generating awareness of the brand and products. As a cross functional partner and leader, this role will be responsible for leading a team of email marketing professionals to develop, execute and analyze email marketing campaigns, encouraging agility and creativity with email.
Specifically, you will:

Management of the entire email marketing function: own all calendar planning, oversee briefing and creative development, monitor results and reporting, establish testing criteria, and strategic advancement of the program.

Create roadmap for significant email program changes and innovations that will drive growth.

Collaborate with marketing team to align email calendars with larger corporate initiatives including strategic priorities, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.

Identify opportunities for automated trigger campaigns based on lifecycle marketing and customer behavior.

Set yearly goals for email performance and monitor KPIs to ensure goals are met.

Review email analytics and pinpoint actionable insights, efficiencies, and new opportunities

Identify customer segments and monitor the health of the database.

Partner with marketing team and other teams on email acquisition projects.

Oversee the responsibilities and performance of a team of seven direct reports.

Develop optimization opportunities for increased traffic, revenue, and sales per email through Innovation and personalization.
Some of what you need:
Experience:
-
5-7 years marketing experience with a focus on email marketing
-
3-5 years managing a large team of direct reports
Education:
- University degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
Must have:
-
Omni-channel retail marketing background either in-house or at an agency partner
-
Experience running end-to-end aspects of an email program
-
Hands-on experience with Klaviyo or other email marketing platforms
-
Strong people management skills: the ability to motivate and lead in a dynamic environment
-
Understanding of Canadian anti-spam legislation (CASL) and other applicable email privacy laws
-
Awareness of email best-practices and trends
-
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects at once
Nice to have:
-
Experience with SMS Marketing and Text Messaging best practices

Experience with Adobe Analytics
-
Copywriting skills and a creative mindset
