What You’ll Do: Safely operate crane/boom trucks Ensure safety is a priority to self, fellow workers, the general public and the assets of the company and following policies and procedures set out by the company Operate crane truck as per operator manual Daily walk around inspection of machine, general housekeeping of machine and minor repairs to machine when necessary to ensure safe operation Daily administration of log books, job briefings etc. Compliance to track rules and instructions according to CROR Assist with manual labour when necessary Communicate effectively over radio Meet productivity level requirements set out by supervisors/foremen What is Required: Valid Full Class 3a Driver’s License: You’ll need a valid Class 3 driver’s license at minimum plus a clean drivers abstract to operate company vehicles. Valid Boom / Crane qualifications Experience with Hi-Rail Boom Truck: Minimum 1 season experience operating the HyRail Boom Truck (Boom Truck on the railroad track, not wheels) Quality Work Boots: Willingness to invest 8 inch work boots. Fit-For-Duty: Pass criminal record check and drug and fitness screening, including lifting up to 50 lbs. Physicality: Must be able to work as labourer when required. Railway Operating Rules: Pass all required railway operating rules examinations. Flexibility: Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as needed.
